Black Market Spirits was founded in 2019 by longtime friends Matt Fraser and Casey Wilkinson. They had always talked of creating a liquor brand since they bartended together 25 years ago. Whether through distribution, sales or marketing, they each went on to participate in the alcohol industry until the inception of Black Market Spirits in 2019.
Along with some other close friends they made their idea a reality and created a family of brands. Each brand telling a different story or giving a nod to where their passion for the industry began, the central coast of California.
Fast forward to 2024, Black Market Spirits can be found distributed in 4 states with a handful more on the horizon in 2025. Black Market is in the process of expanding their distillery footprint in San Luis Obispo to become one of the largest distilleries on the west coast.
